When you first bring home a poodle puppy, you need to make a commitment. Not just to the puppy but yourself. That is to train your puppy daily and consistently.
It can be easy to dismiss the idea of training, thinking that your poodle is just a puppy and it won’t make too much mess anyway. But, if the bad habits are not controlled at this stage, it becomes increasingly difficult to train your poodle to be good once he/she has formed those habits. This causes major frustration to owners.
If you want to know how to train a poodle, then you need to this – In any dog training regimen, consistency is the most important ingredient. You need to set a time of the day when you are going to train your poodle and get it done at that time. It doesn’t have to be some long and strenuous training. just 15 mins a day is a good starting point for you as well as your poodle, especially if its a puppy.
Each day, You can concentrate on just one aspect of training so that you dont confuse your poodle within a short period of time. Of course if you can dedicate more time than 15 mins a day, then your poodle will have time to digest whats happening and take in the training and retain it. Even then, you shouldn’t try to teach too many things at the same time as it would just confuse your pet more.
